Lukas Bormann is professor of New Testament at the University of Marburg since 2014. For students of the New Testament Marburg is a special place. Here worked the well-known and until today highly respected New Testament scholar and theologian Rudolf Bultmann (1884-1976). Before Lukas Bormann moved to Marburg, he held chairs at Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the University of Bayreuth, Technical University of Braunschweig and was researcher and lecturer at the universities of Hildesheim and Frankfurt. His main expertise is in New Testament studies, the history of ancient religions, the reception history of the Bible as well as the history of New Testament research (19th and 20th century).
